Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Dokodo ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Dokodo is a web-based inventory management application that allows you to:
- Track items, quantities, and locations
- Organize items with tags and categories
- Upload and store item photos
- Search and filter your inventory
- Access your data offline (Progressive Web App)
3. Account Registration
3.1 Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your account.
3.3 Email Verification
You must verify your email address to use the Service. Unverified accounts may have limited functionality.
4. Subscription Plans
4.1 Free Plan
The free plan includes:
- Up to 100 items
- Up to 20 locations
- Basic features (items, locations, tags)
- Limited photo storage (10 MB)
4.2 Paid Plans
Paid subscriptions offer:
- Higher plan limits than Free
- Additional paid features such as offline access, imports, labels, attachments, and reporting
- Team-only shared editing when you choose the Team plan
- Plan details and current limits as shown on the pricing and subscription pages
4.3 Billing
- Payment Processing: Handled by Stripe (we do not store card details)
- Billing Cycle: Monthly (charged in advance)
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
- Cancellation: Cancel anytime from Settings → Subscription
- Refunds: No refunds for partial months unless required by law or we approve a billing correction
4.4 Price Changes
We may change subscription prices with notice. Existing subscribers keep their current Stripe price while the subscription remains unchanged. Current pricing applies to new subscriptions and to subscriptions that are changed, cancelled and restarted, or otherwise materially updated.
5. Acceptable Use
5.1 Permitted Use
You may use the Service for lawful inventory management purposes only.
5.2 Prohibited Use
You may NOT:
- Upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content (photos, descriptions)
- Violate intellectual property rights
- Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise the Service
- Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the Service
- Share your account credentials with others
- Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
- Use the Service to store or track illegal items
5.3 Content Moderation
We reserve the right to review uploaded photos and descriptions. Content violating these Terms may be removed, and accounts may be suspended or terminated.
5.4 Right of Withdrawal (EU/EEA/UK Consumers)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason. To exercise this right, contact us at legal@dokodo.app before the 14-day period expires.
Important: If you begin using the Service immediately after purchase (by accessing paid features), you acknowledge that you may lose your withdrawal right once the digital content has been fully provided. We will inform you of this at checkout.
To withdraw, send a clear statement (e.g., by email) including your name, email address, and subscription date. Upon valid withdrawal, we will refund all payments received within 14 days using the same payment method.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you upload (photos, descriptions). By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process it solely for providing the Service.
6.2 Our Content
The Service, including its design, code, trademarks, and documentation, is owned by Dokodo and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.
7. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of data as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Service Availability
8.1 Uptime
We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible.
8.2 Backups
We perform regular database backups, but you are responsible for maintaining your own backups. Use the data export feature to download your data regularly.
8.3 Offline Access
The Service includes offline functionality (PWA), but offline data is cached locally on your device. We are not responsible for data loss due to device issues or browser cache clearing.
9. Termination
9.1 By You
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
9.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- Your account is inactive for 24+ months (free plans only)
- Payment fails for 30+ days (paid plans)
- We discontinue the Service (with 90 days' notice)
9.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your access to the Service is revoked
- Your data may be deleted after 30 days (download data before deletion)
- Subscription fees are non-refundable (unless required by law)
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
- Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of data
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Security against unauthorized access or data loss
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Damages exceeding the amount you paid us in the past 12 months
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so these limits may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your content (photos, descriptions)
- Your violation of these Terms
13. Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Basel-Stadt, Switzerland, subject to mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence that may provide additional rights.
13.2 Arbitration
Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You waive your right to a jury trial or class action lawsuit.
13.3 Exceptions
Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations or data breaches.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
15. Miscellaneous
15.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Dokodo.
15.2 Severability
If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
15.3 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
15.4 Assignment
You may not assign these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations to a successor entity.
